Post Paid Roaming FAQs

1. What do I need to do before I leave?

Kindly visit any of our experience centers and fill out a form for the Elite world post paid package, indicate your requirement of international roaming service and make a minimum security deposit of N50,000.

2. What do I need to do when I get to a foreign country?

All you have to do is to switch your phone on; the process of logging on to the local network is automatic.

3. How do I dial an Etisalat Nigeria number while roaming?

You would have to add the international dialing code of Nigeria which is +234 followed by the Etisalat Nigeria number (leaving out the 0 that precedes the 0809 number)

For example, if you want to dial the following Etisalat Nigeria number 0809 XXXX XXX you would dial +234 809 XXXX XXX

4. How do I dial a Nigerian landline while roaming?

You would have to add the international dialing code of Nigeria which is +234 followed by the area code and the landline number (leaving out the 0 that precedes the area code)

For example, if you want to dial the following number in Lagos 774 XXXX you would dial +234 1 774 XXXX where 1 represents the area code of Lagos which is 01.

5. How do I dial a local number in the country that I am visiting?

You simply dial the local number the way it is.

For example, if you want to dial the following number in the United Kingdom 079 XXXX XXXX, you dial 079 XXXX XXXX.

6. How do I get billed when I make calls while roaming?

Your Elite World package is a postpaid package. For all calls made while roaming, you are billed by the visited network and the totality of charges are sent to Etisalat who includes this in your monthly bill.

7. How much do I get charged for calls made while roaming?

This is based on the country that you have roamed to and the rate our roaming partner in the visited country that you are roaming on charge.

8. Do I get suspended when I get to my limit or once I exhaust the N50,000 deposit?

The N50,000 is a roaming security deposit needed for activating the roaming service. The subscriber will be billed as per his usage at the end of the month and is expected to pay the amount. You would be suspended when you get to the credit limit.

9. When do I receive my bill for roaming?

You will receive your bill at the end of the month and depending on the travel dates the bill could be received in the following month’s bill.

10. When a Subscriber comes to Nigeria to roam on Etisalat network , does he get any SMS from us?

Yes, he gets a welcome sms

11. Why do I have to pay as much as fifty thousand for roaming?

This is the standard security deposit for roaming.
